Le Yunnan (en sinogrammes simplifiés : 云南, en sinogrammes traditionnels : 雲南, en pinyin : Yúnnán) est une province du sud-ouest de la Chine. Le Yunnan possède des paysages d'une très grande diversité, séparé des plateaux arides du Tibet au nord par le col du Hong-La (4 220 m) jusqu'aux forêts tropicales du Xishuangbanna. Sa capitale, Kunming, est située dans une cuvette à environ 2 000 m d'altitude, et entourée de rizières en étages. On la surnomme la « Ville du printemps éternel », notamment en raison du lac qui régule sa température. C'est la seule métropole du Yunnan - elle compte plus de 3 millions d'habitants. Les autres villes sont peu peuplées.
